Yesterday a young physicist (she introduced herself as such) watched my show and approached me afterwards.
She really really really wanted to know how the newspaper put itself back together again. I, of course, couldn’t tell her.
She seemed frustrated by my answer, so I said, “we magicians use the holes in peoples perceptions to create illusions. We pretend to do things we cannot (no one can) do. We lie for fun and entertainment. Science people don’t lie. Nature doesn’t lie. This is why the “secret” is frustrating to you. What you must understand is magicians USE those holes in peoples perception to PRETEND to defy the laws of nature. We’re using psychology to create fun.”
She looked at me nodded and said, “yeah… but how did the paper put itself back together?”.
